Our Story

Every great company starts with a single brushstroke; and ours began with a man who just wouldn’t stop learning. Mike Mendoza, our founder, started in the painting world the hard way: as a helper. He rolled walls, cleaned brushes, and showed up early. That work ethic didn’t go unnoticed. Within three years, he was running production for one of Arizona’s largest painting companies while also estimating jobs on the side.

But something was missing: Authenticity. Mike wanted to build a team that valued quality over quantity, relationships over volume, and real craftsmanship over cutting corners. And so, State 48 Painting Company was born.

Now, we serve families and businesses across Chandler, Gilbert, Mesa, San Tan Valley, Queen Creek, Scottsdale, Tempe, and Phoenix with the same energy we had when we opened our first job folder. What’s changed? We’ve grown our team. We’ve deepened our skills. We’ve refined our process. But our mission is still the same: deliver honest work, quality results, and a positive experience you’ll remember long after the paint dries.
